Activities, master classes and workshops in 2024

All workshops are open for registration. Please note that technical workshops are for beginners and advanced. master classes for artists who want to incorporate lithography into their practice, printers for printers is an in-depth course for artists and printers familiar with lithography. Each course is announced and explained in more detail in a mailing about 1½ to 2 months before the start. This information can also be found below the calendar. Equinox Workshop Serendipity led by Aad Hekker

In the Workshop Serendipity, participating artists find images they were not looking for. “Serendipity is finding something unexpected and useful, while the finder was looking for something completely different” – according to Wikipedia. With (the drawn) chalk lithograph, if all goes well, serendipity plays no role: ‘you get what you see.’ But with painted stone, it is – almost always – a surprise: you know that exciting images can emerge, but where and how?

Ideal for beginners and experienced artists alike, this technical workshop offers intensive guidance in a small group, with options for two-, three- or four-day sessions, in our studio that is accessible day and night.

Masterclass Analogue Photoshopping with Rinke Nijburg

In this master class there is no mouse, mouse pad or monitor involved. It is analogue photoshoping. Rinke Nijburg lets you play with image elements on lithographic stones leading to various unica on paper. Images intended for other images, perhaps even from other artists, are also used in the search for new composite images. Exciting!

Rinke Nijburg guides this master class by sparring with you about your images; Aad Hekker provides the perfect print. Rinke is a renowned artist with a love of printmaking. His work has been shown in many solo and group exhibitions since 1988 and is also included in important collections. Rinke Nijburg forms from many motifs, styles, stories, traditions and images a new spiritual cosmology, bursting with a diversity that is, however, not random. Website Rinke Nijburg
