Workshops 2022

Nine workshops have been planned for 2022. Six of these are technical workshops. That is to say: in these workshops you will familiarize yourself with the technique and you can explore the possibilities of lithography under the guidance of a master printer. There are beginners and advanced workshops. The master classes are intended for artists who want to delve further into the visual possibilities of lithography for their artistic practice. Together with a well-known visual artist you will create and discuss your work. The master printer will take care of the technical side of the printing. These workshops are about the art, and not the art of.

Masterclass with Jurjen Ravenhorst

Jurjen Ravenhorst is a visual artist who, after his education in The Hague, through much self-study and practical experience mastered a thorough insight in the many facets of lithography. With him as teacher we will enter into the deepening of our practice and make a new step in forming BPD as knowledge center. Facets and techniques that will be addressed are for example making a negative image, chafe litho and reverse imaging. Other techniques that may be discussed are moku litho, waterless, en aluminum plate litho, each with its own modes of expression. But, working on stone remains key.

Jurjen’s art work can be viewed here

This workshop is fully booked.

Corona rules

Because the courses take place in a space where we cannot always adhere to the 1.5-meter rule, where the ventilation is not optimal and where wearing a face mask at all times is impractical, we ask participants to adhere to the following two rules:
1 Stay home in the event of signs of cold or flu. Course payments can be reimbursed or you can catch up at another time, in consultation.
2 Let yourself be tested before the course or do a home test. You are only welcome with a negative test. This also applies to teachers, of course.
